Welcoming Our First Occupational Therapist
Felice Mendez, OTD, OTR/L
Felice is a curious, creative, and relationship-driven occupational therapist with a growth mindset. The perfect addition to our team.
If you've been following our journey, you know we've always believed that communication is about so much more than words. It's about helping people connect, build meaningful relationships, participate in everyday routines, and confidently engage with the world around them.
Today, we're thrilled to share a huge milestone for our practice:
We're welcoming our very first Occupational Therapist to The Speech & Language Center!
This is something we've dreamed about for a long time, and we couldn't be more excited that the right person came along to make that dream a reality.
Why Occupational Therapy?
As speech-language pathologists, we often work alongside occupational therapists because communication and daily life skills are so closely connected. Many of the children and families we support benefit from addressing not only speech and language, but also sensory processing, emotional regulation, feeding, motor skills, play, executive functioning, and independence.
Having an occupational therapist as part of our own team means we can collaborate even more closely. Instead of simply referring families elsewhere, we'll be able to work together under one roof—sharing ideas, coordinating goals, and creating a more seamless experience for the children and caregivers we serve.
It's another step toward building the kind of practice we've always envisioned: one that supports the whole person and empowers the whole family.
Meet Felice
We're honored to welcome Felice Mendez, OTD, OTR/L to our team!
Felice is a registered and licensed occupational therapist in Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Movement Sciences) from Penn State University before completing her Occupational Therapy Doctorate at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Massachusetts.
While she enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan, her passion lies in pediatrics.
Felice supports children with Autism, anxiety, low mood, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, chronic illness, and neurological conditions by helping them increase participation, independence, and confidence in their daily lives.
What we love most about Felice is her thoughtful, compassionate approach. She believes therapy should be meaningful, engaging, and centered around each child's unique strengths. Her sessions are rooted in play while empowering caregivers with practical strategies they can use long after therapy ends.
Her clinical interests include:
Play-based intervention
Sensory and emotional regulation
Social-emotional development
Self-feeding and mealtime skills
Caregiver coaching and education
Building independence in everyday routines
From the moment we met Felice, we knew she shared the same values that have always guided our practice: meeting families where they are, celebrating every success, and making therapy both effective and joyful.
What This Means for Our Community
Adding occupational therapy opens the door to even more opportunities for collaboration.
Whether your loved one needs support with communication, sensory processing, executive functioning, feeding, emotional regulation, or everyday participation, our team can work together to create a coordinated plan that's personalized to your family's goals.
We believe the best outcomes happen when professionals collaborate—not just with each other, but with families as true partners.
Looking Ahead
As our practice grows, our mission remains the same: to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that helps individuals thrive.
Welcoming Felice is more than adding a new service—it's expanding the way we can support our community.
We are incredibly grateful to every family who has trusted us over the years. Your support has allowed us to continue growing in ways we only dreamed about when we first opened our doors.
Please join us in giving Felice a warm welcome!
We can't wait for you to meet her and experience the knowledge, kindness, and enthusiasm she brings to every person she works with.
